Chief Mick Sneddon has been the Fire Chief for Charleston Fire since October 1996. Before coming to Charleston Fire, Chief Sneddon started as a volunteer Firefighter for Florence Fire Department following the footsteps of his father Captain Blair Sneddon and two brothers Tom & Bob Sneddon all of Florence Fire. He also was a student Firefighters for North Bend Fire Department and in 1986 was hired as a Firefighter/Engineer. While at North Bend he was assigned the training division.
Chief Sneddon received his AS in Fire Science at Southwestern Oregon Community College and went to Eastern Oregon State College for his BS in Fire Service Administration. Mick has held most positions in the regional Fire Service Associations including the Southwestern Oregon Fire Chief's & Officers Association, the Southwestern Oregon Fire Instructors Association and the Southwestern Oregon Firefirefighters' Association.
Chief Sneddon is married and has two daughters and 3 grandchildren. He spends time with his wife, kids and grandkids as well as works with his horse and coachs the Marshfield High School Equestrian team. During the sumers he volunteers as the annoucncer for several horse shows and at the fair for the horse 4H program.
