Charleston Fire District Demographic Survey Coming Soon!

Coos County is hoping to apply for a Community Development Block Grant to upgrade the Charleston Fire District’s fire station, adding a kitchen, living spaces, improved community space, and housing for additional fire and emergency vehicles. As a part of the application, the County has to provide the State of Oregon with a current estimate of the average income of our residents. Staff from Portland State University (PSU) will be visiting randomly selected households throughout the community and offering an opportunity to complete a demographic survey soon that will give us that information.
What will happen?
s PSU will randomly select a subset of households for efficiency.
s Trained staff from PSU will visit those households so everyone selected has a chance to participate.
s The survey is voluntary and will only take two minutes to complete.
s The survey is completely CONFIDENTIAL. That means your name will not be tied to your answers in any way and your name will not be on the survey.
Your participation in the survey is extremely valuable and important so we can support everyone in our community.
